BioFather isn't pleased with me; I can see the look in his eyes. He wants a dutiful son, one who will tow the line and take over the family business, become the electronics magnate that he is. He cannot accept the fact that this is not what I want to do with my life, that I want to write. I want to put my thoughts on paper, follow the footsteps of Steinbeck, Proust, Shakespeare. "This is not practical," he would say, then recite a litany of reasons for assuming the chairmanship of Oshitari Industries, not least of which was the Family Pride (the capitals are the way they would be written if he had anything to say about it). I will likely own up to my responsibility and do the right thing....but for now I will follow my own dream, even though it will likely be for naught.
